My first D.I.Y. page. I hope to add more to this page as time goes on. For the time being, here is a step by step explanation of how to piece together a wonky log cabin quilt. Please let me know if anything doesn't make sense to you and I can try to make it clearer for you.
1)Choose a center square. It does not have to be an exact square, the wonkier the better for this technique. Choose your second color and make sure the piece you have is large enough to fit with the original square. Stitch. 2)After stitching, open out and finger press the seam. Trim one end even with the original piece.
3)Choose the next piece, same color, and make sure it is large enough to cover the original piece and the first one you stitched on. Stitch. 4) Open out, finger press seam, trim even with edge of original square.
5)Continue on this way all the way around the center square. 6)Trim the last part straight across.
7)stitch, stitch, stitch. 8)trim, trim, trim
9) Do it all over again, and again, until... 10) ...your square is as large as you need it to be.
