Mural

1999-Acrylic

This mural was inspired by a photograph. The viewer sees the mountain village from behind a tree (The homeowner placed a real tree in the corner). The mountains lighten to the right as does the sky which changes to a golden yellow sunset (sunrise?) around the corner and onto the door of the room. The painting continues to the next wall (not pictured) and segues into a 3-color rag rolled texture.

Two Marbleized Floors, 1998

Acrylic on wood

Living room floor, faux inlaid marble Dining room floor, faux inlaid marble. Each tiny section of the flower is painted as if it were made of separate pieces of marble. This is a close-up of the design that runs between the two rooms.
The floors have several layers of clear gloss coating for protection and sheen.

Marbleized Floor, 1994

Acrylic on Linoleum

The black border follows the line of the room taking the refrigerator into account. It goes into the space on the right. The inlays in the black border are a deep red/black marble within a white marble diamond. This is the opposite end of the kitchen. The design at the wall was painted with further improvements in mind. The homeowner added french doors which lead out to the deck.
This floor has held up amazingly well. The deck has a hot tub and I also painted the bathroom floor which has a tub, shower, and steam room attached. With all of the opportunities for this floor to have water damage, it's in great condition. This is in spite of the fact that the homeowner has never re-coated it with any protective coating.

Bistro Mural

Acrylic (circa 1994)

This poorly lit photograph represents a mural that I painted in an

apartment that I no longer live in. I have no idea if it's still there.

The inspiration came from an old children's book.
