I
sanded the car with a sandy thing attached to an electric drill. I primed
areas of the beast that had gone to rust. I used exterior semi-gloss paint
in red, yellow, white, and black. I taped off the areas that I didn't want
painted, but I have to say that often, tape offers one a false sense of
security. Usually you have to go back around anyway and retouch the areas
where the paint got under the tape. I don't care if it's regular masking
tape or the lower tack painter's tape, it's all the same.
I will add a
couple of coats of clear, high-gloss protective coating just for extra
insurance, but I believe that this paint job will do quite well.
